Mann Packing:
Mann Packing is a California-based produce packing
company who wanted to create some special commemoratives for their 65th
anniversary in 2004 and wanted to do it with a collegiate feel. We worked
closely with the CEO of Mann Packing who happened to be an alumni of
the University of Michigan. Michigan’s school colors
just happened to match those used by Mann. We created an anniversary
logo using the “M” in Mann, combined with a tagline of “65
Years Fresh” and put this on a variety of items solely in the University
of Michigan colors. We started by doing full color art mock-ups of different
design themes, and before settling on the exact pieces, a full blown
spec sample was created to make sure it was exactly the look and feel
we needed for the project. All we can say is WOW! Below is a list of
some of the items:
- Navy Tees printed in
White and Golden Yellow
- White Tees printed in Navy
and Golden Yellow utilizing the “M” logo in conjunction
with the 65 Years fresh.
- Navy Flexfit cap using
the new “M” logo and 65 Years Fresh logo embroidered using
Navy, Golden Yellow and White thread.
- Both White and Navy visors
using the same “M” logo embroidered in White, Golden Yellow
and Navy
- A football throwback jersey
printed with a worn athletic “Property of Mann” logo with
a small “M” logo centered just below the neckline.
- A custom overseas throwback
cap with a Chenille “M” on front, Mann Packing sandwiched
in the bill, one of the founding fathers signatures embroidered on
the bill, and a 65 Years Fresh label sewn onto the velcro closure of
the cap
- A high end Callaway polo
shirt coupled with a high end Callaway wind-vest decorated using a
small, classy version of the “M” logo. They were used by the CEO
of Mann Packing as an Executive giveaway.
- A Cutter and Buck long
sleeve dress shirt with a tone on tone “M” logo over the
left breast pocket and LXV written like Roman Numerals the cuffs of
each shirt like a monogram, which stands for 65!
Alum Rock School District Special Project:
The Alum Rock School District special board members partnered
with several strategic private companies to raise funds to be spent on
enhancing the pride and feel for its six middle schools. Each school
was granted identical and fixed budgets, but all had different needs.
We met with officials from each school individually,
and worked with the constraints of using the limited funds to satisfy
the unique needs of each school's sports program. We created special
custom art so some of the uniforms could be used for 2 or 3 different
sports. We went to our manufacturers to get special pricing for each
uniform so the funds could be stretched as much as possible. We cut our
decorating costs in every way possible without compromising the look
of each uniform.
When it was all said and done, all six schools had new
uniforms for all of their after school sport programs, and we accomplished
it within budget. Oh, did I mention we did all of this within 15 work
days. Our time and effort were well spent, for we made a few new customers
for life.
